La Tuna Loop

If you’re looking for a quick ride with descent views of the Los Angeles area, this may be the one for you. It’s a great loop for beginners, but even Advanced riders will enjoy some of the technical bonus features along the trail. The loop begins with a 3.5 mile climb up a fire road. Then you enjoy a couple miles of panoramic views while riding downhill along the fire road ridge. At about mile marker 5.5 you drop into the canyon on narrow technical single tracks, some tight switch backs, and some heavy vegetation (including some patches of poison oak). There’s a little bit of uphill road riding on the way back to the cars, but it’s not a main thoroughfare so vehicular traffic is minimal.
